NHST Media Group AS appoints new Group CFO

Baard Haugen (63) has been appointed Group CFO of NHST Media Group and will join the Group Management Team by early September. Haugen comes from a similar position at Elopak, a Norway-based, international supplier of paper-based packaging solutions for liquid food.

Haugen has experience from management positions both in finance and operations in several private and listed companies with extensive international activities. He has been with Elopak since 2011 with responsibility for finance, IT and legal, and for a period also served as acting CEO. Before joining Elopak, he was CFO of the shipping company The Torvald Klaveness Group. His previous experience includes several management positions with Elkem, a Norway-based industrial group. Haugen also has experience from the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy. He holds a Master’s degree from the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

Baard will be an important contributor to the ongoing transition towards new revenue sources while at the same time ensuring profitability in our existing activities. Haugen comments that he is very excited about joining the media industry. – The media industry was hit by disruption at a time when most of us had barely pronounced the word. Now, even traditional industries are forced to implement fundamental changes due to new technology and digitalisation. I believe that my experience from turnaround and change processes at other companies will be relevant to NHST Media Group’s future business development and continued operational improvements, he says.

Haugen succeeds Hans Lysheim, who after 10 years has decided to leave the Group.
